Tumu Timbers | Forklift Battery Vacuum Lifter

Tumu Timbers needed a specialised lifting attachment for their Combilift C6000 forklift capable of safely handling laminated timber beams up to 12 metres long.

The system had to integrate seamlessly with existing equipment while delivering reliable lifting performance in a high-throughput environment.

Their operation required a solution that could lift either:

• A single 1200mm-wide x 12m beam, or
• Multiple 300mm-wide x 12m beams simultaneously

The beams also varied in surface consistency, meaning the device had to perform safely on uneven and imperfect timber surfaces.

Stratalign engineered and supplied a battery-powered vacuum lifter purpose-built to mount to the Combilift. The system featured:

• Adjustable vacuum pad spacing for different beam widths
• Individually isolatable pads for safe handling of varied load configurations
• Reliable suction performance on uneven laminated timber

This setup gave Tumu Timbers a versatile, efficient, and fully self-contained lifting solution—improving handling safety while streamlining their long-beam transport process.
